| the cylinder will need to be bored. Unless they measure it and it is perfectly round with no ridge and chaffing of the cyl wall. This is so the new rings which will be perfectly round will match the cyl and work properly. So, now the block must be disassembled to bore and prep the cyl in question. Once the machinist is set up to bore one cyl why not do all six? Then you need to replace all the rings. Whether you decide to upgrade all six pistons or just replace the one in question is up to you, but it would be good practice to take advantage of the upcoming fix and do it right by replacing the rings and main bearings at the same time.
